South University to anchor Rendina project

Palm Beach County real estate developer Rendina Cos. announced that South University, a private institution with campuses in South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia and Florida, has signed a lease to anchor its University Centre in Royal Palm Beach.
South University will move from its current campus on North Congress Avenue in West Palm Beach to its new 40,000-square-foot home at the corner of U.S. 441 and Belvedere Road late next year.
University Centre will consist of about 100,000 square feet of office space in three buildings on a 10-acre site. The new university will include several large labs, lecture halls, a library and seminar rooms,.
“The development of a new South University campus is overdue,” Chancellor John T. South III said. “The scope of the university’s programs has exceeded our current location, and the campus that Rendina has planned reflects who we are and what South University is really all about.”

South University has agreed to move its South Florida campus from West Palm Beach to a new development in Royal Palm Beach.
The private university, established in 1899 and based in Savannah, Ga., plans to lease 40,000 square feet at University Centre at U.S. 441 and Belvedere Road in the fourth quarter of 2009. South now leases roughly 32,000 square feet on Congress Avenue in West Palm Beach.
The developer, Rendina Cos. of Jupiter, said the project will have about 100,000 square feet of offices on a 10-acre site.
